The annual award is a Social Impact Award supported by Connected Development (CODE) in partnership with Center For Advocacy,Transparency & Accountability Initiative - CATAI . The award is an annual seed grant to support startup and Innovative Ideas across Nigeria in honour of late Muhammad Bukar Kabir, a passionate advocate for Girl child and social change.

The 2021 Annual Activism award will be selecting three (3) Social Enterprises and community-driven initiative with a proven track record of innovative solutions impacting the lives of vulnerable people in northeast, Nigeria. The award offers a seed grant of up to N500,000 for the winners and Muhammad Kabir awards of Activism. The three (3) finalists will receive the following:

Grand prize N250,000 Award
Runner-up N150,000 Award
Third place N100,000 Award

In addition to these prizes, winners stand a chance to receive other benefits including mentorship and acceleration of their initiatives. Five (5) semifinalists will be required to send a maximum of a 2-minute pitch video of their initiative.
